Christmas Party

Theme: 70's & 80's night (prizes for best dress costume)
Entertainment: Karaoke, airbands, laughter, games, music, prizes for best costume, food, etc... Bring a friend!

For the Airband competition pick an appropriate song from the 70’s or 80’s and perform it for us – prizes for best airband (so maybe practice) but we will have songs available if you want to wing it – it will be so fun.

Poinsetta pick-up

Just a reminder that if you sold poinsetta’s for the fundraiser we will have them here at the church @ 12 noon tomorrow and you should come and pick them up and be ready to deliver them. Thanks!!

Guys/Girls Night

Hey there everyone, I hope that you are having a great day! So this week we are having a guys/girls night and it is going to be awesome so here is what is happening.

Guys Night:
Guys are meeting at the EMM Church, come prepared to go outside for awhile we are going to be playing some games and such outside. Then we will be making our way inside, hanging out and eating food and playing games, chatting etc.

Girls Night:
Speaker is coming and her name is Lisa and the theme is, you are beautiful! there is worship with Rachel and Karissa, interacting together and food. It will be a very special evening!!!

poinsetta fundraiser

So a fundraiser has just started - we are selling Poinsetta's and door swags and this is to help with the cost of Treasure Foundation, which is a huge EMMC youth conference in Minneapolis happening just after Christmas 2013 - so if you have any questions just let me know.  

Mall Hunt

Hey there everybody, we are having the Annual Mall Hunt this wed. We are going to be going to St. Vital Mall and we will be Meeting @ 5:15 Pm @ the hub and will be on road @ 5:30 SO DONT BE LATE!! Bring 5 dollars for gas and money for food and for anything else you would like at the mall. See you Wednesday!!

Bible Study

Kellin will lead a bible study on Jesus healing the blind man. Music with Da Band, Snacks, Offering for Obed, etc... See you there!!

Youth Retreat

Just a reminder to bring your youth retreat forms and fundraising forms back on Wed. – if you sold cheese I don’t need your payment for the retreat yet but if you have not then please bring payment as well.

If you would really like to go but can’t seem to come up the money please come and talk to me. The retreat is going to be awesome and I would love to see you there!!!

Fundraising - Bothwell Cheese

We have a started a fundraiser for the Youth Retreat that is coming up at the end of the month. The youth retreat is Oct. 26-28 and Derek Neufeld will be speaking it is going to be awesome!!!! So we are selling bothwell cheese till Oct. 17 to reduce retreat cost, so if you need a form let me know.

Kick OFF

**New start time for youth this year. Alll youth events will be 7 - 9 p.m. unless otherwise posted.**

Meet at the Hub at 6:45 p.m. We will be going to Jeremy Siemens' place for a fire, games and outdoor movie. It will be a late night so expect to be back around 11 p.m. We will be taking the bus. Can't wait to see you all there! :)

Mudfest

So here it is again, MUDFEST!!! YAY!! get ready to dirty - where clothes that you don't mind getting ruined and bring a change of clothes and undergarments because everything gets dirty and it will be so much fun. Prizes for the best outfits/costumes. 7 PM @ the Hub.

Games in the Park

We have been in the Hub a lot lately and so we are going to be taking it outdoors!! We are going to playing games in the park, which is going to be awesome but then we are going to follow that up with with a bonfire and a wiener roast. Meet @ the park @ 7:30 PM. See you there!!

Journey to the Cross

Hey there everybody I hope that you are having a great day!! So our church (Altona EMMC) has something going on called ‘Journey to the Cross’ and what this is, is a journey through different stations that help us walk through the last days of Jesus  I really feel that this is going to be a power time as we encounter the Cross!! So come and join us for a reflective interactive walk through Christs' last days. Everyone welcome. Starts at 7:00 p.m. in the Altona EMMC Dining Hall.

We are having a bible study @ youth this week and will be continuing our Lent Bible study and ‘living the kingdom’. Henry Abrams is doing the teaching and DA BAND is going to be playing it is going to be awesome!! I hope to see you there :)

SBC Drama Team

So this week is going to be awesome, I am really looking forward to it!! Steinbach Bible College is sending their DRAMA TEAM out for us this week. It is going to be some much fun. we are going to be doing this in the EMM Church Basement  start time is 7:30 PM. SEE YOU THERE!!

Crokinole Tourney

Hey there Yal, I hope that you are having a great day! so this week @ youth is our annual bridging the gap crokinole tourney and it is going to be awesome so plan on coming. This is where the 55+ and the youth team up in a crokinole battle for their name on the trophy. It is lots of fun and good relationships with young and old are made. Their also snacks and stuff, and so we really look forward to seeing you there. 7 PM @ the EMM Church Basement.

GYM NIGHT

Tobogganing

The plan is to stay with the tobogganing idea, make a sled bring a sled whatever you want and we are going to have fun at the hill. bring your skates as well if you want for skating on the pond. prizes for the most creative sleds. Meet at the nature Pond @ 7:30 PM.

Bible Jeopardy

Hey there Yal, welcome back - Youth is starting up this week. YAY. we are going to be playing bible jeopardy this week at youth - it is so going to be lots of fun so come and bring your friends. we miss you guys and look forward to seeing you @ the hub on WED. sweet.

Parent Teenagers - Coarse for parents

Hey there yal, so we have a parenting course coming up and it is going to to happening at our youth building (71 4th Ave. NE). This is a course put out by Alpha on parenting teenagers and will be led by pastor Ben and Cindy Klassen. It should be a very good course with lots of practical ideas, so do plan on attending and invite other parents of teenagers that you know.

Course - for those parenting
11-18 year olds. A five week course beginning on January 16 (will be running every Monday for 5 weeks) @ 7 PM @ the Hub.
Topics will include: teenagers' needs/ setting boundaries/ building the relationship/ helping our teenagers make good choices/ looking to the future. Cost $ 6 per person (to cover books).
